BRIEF HISTORY OF MUZON PABAHAY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Muzon Pabahay Elementary School (MPES) commenced in 1998 as an extension of then Muzon Elementary School, now Benito Nieto Elementary School, with the initial enrolment of 1,000 from Grades I to Grade IV, taken cared by 6 teachers under the leadership of Ms. Elvira P. Villano. It is situated at Pabahay 2000 and the housing units served as classrooms for five years.
Through the joint-efforts exerted by the Local-National Government and the DepEd the construction of building came into reality after years of waiting. The school then was transferred to its own location at Phase 1 with the total land area of 10,810 sq. m. through the allocation of the NHA and was initially developed by the FILINVEST Land Corporation. Two (2) building of three-storey high with 18 classrooms per building were erected initially. All these were under the administration of the then principal, Ms. Elvira P. Villano and the succeeding principal in 1997, Mrs.Dolores M. Lavilla. Other buildings, projects and school facilities were furnished and built during the time of the principals who followed namely Mrs. Nerliza C. Miranda, Mrs. Flordeliza M. Limon, and Mrs. Lourdes A. Solomon. Efforts to bring the dream to reality were exerted. The school had undergone various complicated experiences in the past years like the all grade level triple-shifting of classes, no chairs nor desks for pupils and that they need to bring their own and carry it again going back home after classes. No supply of water and electricity and not to mention the frequent juvenile activities surrounding the area are adding up to the school’s adversities. However, because of the said past administrators, these problems were somehow managed properly.
The school site is a vast plain with no terrains. However, because it is located in the lowest level of the area, it suffers the pain of being the catch basin whenever typhoons and heavy rains hit the place. The drainage systems of the community all pass through the school and flow to the Marilao River. Consequently, whenever heavy rains are experienced, many pupils and even teachers cannot come to school because the school in itself is flooded.
Looking at Muzon Pabahay Elementary School, its beauty, achievements and accomplishments are part of the efforts, generosity and abundant concerns, participation and voluntary involvement of the stakeholders. Remarkable is the unconditional support of the then Barangay Captain Hon. Gerardo Sarmiento and current Barangay Captain, Nolly D.Concepcion, who remain to be an action man every time the problem is perceived. Together with the Barangay Council, they extend not just moral and spiritual support but more so in the material and/or physical supports as well.
Our provincial government also contributed a lot by providing us with classrooms and cemented pavements. Our City government has sheltered us with a grand covered court and rehabilitated a part of our drainage system.
